I first discovered this through my own elopement. Of everything I have from that day, the Super 8 film is probably what I cherish most. I love going back to it because of the way it brings the atmosphere of the day back to me. Seeing the movement of my dress, the landscape around us, the little gestures and fleeting moments that I might otherwise have forgotten feels incredibly personal.
It has made me think about what we actually want when we photograph and film the important parts of our lives. We aren't necessarily trying to remember every detail. We want to remember how a place looked, how someone moved, what it felt like to be there, and the version of ourselves that existed in that particular moment.
